OVERVIEW
In 2011, the World of Tiffany was extended with the brand’s second Spanish boutique in Barcelona’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The store created a delicate environment defined by an ephemeral installation, vitrines, marble, – all bathed in the glow of Tiffany Blue. The façade provides a frame for the custom ceiling installation and glittering display of Tiffany’s exquisite products.
The most striking element used in the design is the Tiffany Blue Box’s white satin ribbon. Inspired by Gaudi’s sculptural ceilings approach, a series of ribbons created a topography in the ceiling unrolling down the walls and ceilings through the levels
BRANDED ARCHITECTURAL
WATERMARKS
The ceiling features a ribbon-like lighting design that thematically connects store levels and creates a dramatic sculptural effect. The use of Art Deco inspired fluting becomes a unifying theme throughout the store, being represented in glass, mirror, metal and wood. As a contemporary expression of the Legendary Tiffany Style, the design features custom furnishings, leather panels and cerused oak in various shades of blue. Referencing the iconic New York flagship on Fifth Avenue, Christian Lahoude incorporated graphic black-and-white photographs, brushed stainless steel showcases and vitrines.
