OVERVIEW
Alexander Wang’s second Hong Kong location is a shop-in-shop in department store Sogo, housing women’s ready-to-wear collections, accessories, footwear and objects collections. The challenge was to create a distinctive brand presence within the context of the strong, multi‐brand environment of Sogo. The design needed to stand out, but still be inviting. It also required the display of the range of product collections, normally kept separate, within the small space.
Utilizing the Alexander Wang concept developed by The Studio in collaboration with Mr. Wang, the store features a floating shelving unit, duratrans displays, minimalist furniture, terrazzo, white Italian Carrera, black Nero Marquina marble, and polished bronze metal. The contrasting black and white is complemented with a balance of transparency and opacity and incorporates the use of monitors.
